Signs of a Leaking Roof
Some leaks are obvious. Others show up first as discoloration, damp materials, or changes in the attic that are easy to overlook.
-
Brown or yellow ceiling stains

-
Water that appears after storms

-
Soft, stained, or bubbling ceiling surfaces

-
Loose, missing, or wind-damaged roofing

-
Wet insulation or darkened roof decking

-
Musty smells or visible dampness in the attic

Roof leaks tend to become more expensive when they are ignored. If the signs point to water getting through the roofing system, have the roof checked while the damage is still localized.
